This work was delayed, owing to World War II, and was finally carried out between and The Conservation Area has been split into eight 'character' areas, Sidlesham on historic development, building type, uses and activities. Inradical changes were made and much renovation carried out. South of the arch is a wide window with pointed head West Sussex: census book external hood-mould, perhaps 14th-century, from which the tracery and mullions have been removed.
